Matthew Montgomery Morgan, 50, of Nantahala, passed away Monday, Oct. 2, 2017, at his home
He was born April 9, 1967, in High Point, to Hubert Author and Linda Sue Passmore Morgan. He graduated in 1985 from Nantahala High School. Matthew was a countroom technician at Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River Casino & Hotel. He was of the Christian faith.
He reached glory ahead of his parents; wife, Teresa Morgan; sons, Wade Morgan, Mikel Morgan and fiancée Bonnie Dodd, and Brandon Morgan and wife Laura, who are expecting his first grandson, Case Montgomery Morgan; grandmother, Mary Jo Passmore; mother-in-law, Gail Cope; sister, Lisa Holden and husband Jeff; nephew, Wesley Holden and wife Amanda; niece, Alyssa Holden; brother-in-law, Jamie Cope and wife Colleen; several Aunts, Uncles, Cousins; and a multitude of friends.
Funeral services were held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, 2017, at the Townson-Rose Chapel in Andrews. Pastor David Postell and pastor Marlin McMahan officiated.
The family received friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, 2017, at the Townson-Rose Chapel in Andrews. A private burial was held Friday, Oct. 6, 2017. Pallbearers were Wade, Brandon and Mikel Morgan, Wesley Holden, Jamie and Jonathan Cope, Jeff Holden, Donnie Mashburn and Tanner McGregor.
