Julia Haney Dills

   Julia Haney Dills, 97, of Topton, passed away Monday, March 12, 2018, at Valley View Care & Rehabilitation Center in Andrews.

   She was born in Macon County to the late Riley and Sarah Jane Wilson Haney. Julia was a homemaker. She enjoyed quilting and was a former member of Macon County Crafts. Julia was a member of Union Hill Baptist Church.

   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arch Harold Dills; infant daughter, Syretta Ann Dills; daughter, Lula Belle Owenby; two sons, Wilber Dills and Rudolf Dills; four brothers, Jewel Haney, Loman Haney, Zell Haney and Harvey Haney; two sisters, Willa Mae

   Jacobs and Eller Yonce; and two grandsons, Jeffery Owenby and Brian Scott Dills.

   She is survived by four sons, Norris Dills of High Point, Eric Dills of Andrews, Terry Dills of Mt. Gilead, and Wilfred Dills of High Point; one daughter, Karen Owenby of Trinity; one brother, Willard Haney; 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

   Funeral services were held at noon Thursday, March 15, 2018, at Union Hill Baptist Church in Topton. The Rev. Randy Price and the Rev. Mitchell Owenby officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were her grandsons and great-grandsons.

   The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at the Townson-Rose Chapel in Andrews, where she remained until being placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service hour.

   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Union Hill Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 2138 Camp Branch Road, Topton, NC 28781.
