Home and Garden Show set for this weekend

    An estimated 4,600 people are expected to attend the fourth annual Northeast Georgia/Western North Carolina Home & Garden Show set for Saturday and Sunday, June 9-10.
    The event has been relocated to the Towns County Recreation & Conference Center, just off Georgia 515 at 150 Foster Park Road west of Fieldstone Theatre. The hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and noon-5 p.m. Sunday.
    About 100 local and regional companies will display and present products and services for homeowners. Admission and parking are free. There will be hourly drawing and door prizes also will be given away.
    Homeowners who attend the home and garden show are from Hiawassee, Young Harris, Blairsville, Blue Ridge and Ellijay, Ga., and Murphy, Andrews and Hayesville in North Carolina.
    Jim Parks from HGTV is the television celebrity guest. Parks will give three entertaining, educating seminars each day featuring “Update your Kitchen and Bathroom,” “I Need Curb Appeal” and “Change My Living Space.”
