Welcome to the Newspaper in Education Page.
The Andrews Journal is proud to be working with Cherokee County schools and local community leaders in developing the Newspaper in Education program. Teachers, students, and parents are invited to visit this page from time to time to see what's happening on their campus.
The Newspaper in Education program provides participating classrooms copies of the newspaper along with teaching aids on how to use newspaper in school to help improve student literacy. Teachers have reported that having newspapers in the classroom has helped with a wide variety of learning skills.
Local businesses and individuals can sponsor a Andrews, Marble and Nantahala classrooms for an entire school year--it's just like being able to provide a new textbook every week!
Anyone interested in sponsoring a classroom or making a donation to support Newspaper in Education may do so by contacting Newspaper in Education at The Andrews Journal, 828-321-4271 or e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org
